This buy bid is typically wholesale book or less. Then if the Dealer sells the customer unit, the dealer keeps any profit over the wholesale buy bid. The problem with this program is that the owner and the dealer do not have the same goals. The other challenge is typically the dealer will come back to the customer and say the buy bid needs to be lowered. Basically the dealer is working both the owner and the potential buyer to maximize the dealer’s profit. Why do dealers to this? Dealers do this because they expect the owner to sacrafice their profit.
